Here we go with a rich blend of past and present chic from the collections. Some of it I have to admit is timeless in trendiness-10 years later a few of these gems are still being ordered and customized. The hourglass/1950s silhouette continues to be a big fave with my clients and maybe the reason they come to me in particular.
Meet GLORIANA, the newest gem just off the work table. The center point is a shirred tullle bodice over Chantilly lace cutouts underneath with custom buttons down the front. Lots of love of my craft went into fashioning this piece where a mix of all kinds of different laces complement one another.
Sometimes a dress will come together simply because I have some gorg... lace hanging around at that right artist's Ah Ha! moment. I've been doing pure white pieces lately and this one is another result. The ANDREESIA Dress-Lace, tulle, and handmade flowers are what this dress is made of.
Today is a tribute to Irene Castle. The EDYTA Dress, just off the wo... rktable, is inspired by the early 20th-Century ballroom dancer Irene Castle who strutting alongside her tall and sinewy partner Vernon, popularized The Cakewalk and Foxtrot. She set the fashion as well as dance trends in the period before, during, and after World War I.
The EDYTA Dress inspired by the early 20th-Century ballroom dancer Irene Castle who strutting alongside her partner Vernon popularized The Cakewalk and Foxtrot. This confection is made up of a layer of tulle over ecru Chantilly lace. Handmade florals are dappled throughout the skirt and flounce on the bodice.
I have been fascinated with garden weddings for years and many of my designs reflect this. Paired up with the CABBAGE ROSE Picture Hat is the MONET-INSPIRED garden wedding dress. I can envision this ensemble amongst paths of roses and Hydraenga. Maybe the bride would sport a basket of Gladiolas instread of a bouquet. Tulle and lace jacket matched up with layers of tulle skirt.
Up close detail of The FLEUR Dress. This jewel sprung from my love o... f and concept around the cocktail wedding. Imagine you in this making an entrance at the intimate late afternoon and/or evening gathering in a lounge or art gallery. Check it out: https://www.etsy.com/.../1930s-wedding-dr...
